‘America’s Got Talent’ Winner Landau Murphy to Sign Books, Perform, Pick Up Award in NYC
Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., winner of NBC TV’s “America’s Got Talent,” will greet fans and sign copies of his award-winning memoir on May 29 at Book Expo America in New York City. He’ll also perform at 54 Below, Broadway’s Supper Club, on May 30.
On May 29, Murphy will be in the Author Autographing Area Book from 1-2 p.m. at Table 6 and in Headline Books Booth 2368 from 2-3 p.m. and at the Mom’s Choice Awards Booth from 3-4 p.m. BEA is held at the Javits Center.
Then on May 30, Murphy will perform at 11 a.m. at 54 Below — Broadway’s Supper Club, 254 W 54th St, Cellar, New York. There is a $30-$40 cover charge and $25 food and beverage minimum. Murphy wrote his motivational biography, Landau: From Washing Cars to Hollywood Star, with award-winning novelist Rick Robinson. The best-seller spent several weeks during the Christmas holidays at No. 1 on the Amazon.com Jazz Books chart and received a Gold Mom’s Choice Award.
Earlier this month, Landau was named the Winner in the Inspirational category of the 2014 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. On May 28, Murphy and his wife Jennifer, plus Robinson and their publisher Cathy Teets and her daughter, Ashley, an award-winning illustrator, will pick up awards at the Indie Book Award reception at the Harvard Club.
