Landau Eugene Murphy Jr, the season six winner of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, will headline Austin City Streams produced by Stageit.com. The online streaming concert series benefits Texas music, hospitality and service industry workers suffering severe financial hardship in the aftermath of the recent ice storms and the ongoing pandemic in conjunction with Banding Together ATX. Landau’s performance is Thursday March 18th at 8pm ET. The one-of-a-kind musical experience will showcase the Sinatra and soul singing sensation as he will brighten up the evening with swinging arrangements of Great American Songbook classics from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat’ King’ Cole, and many more, along with a dusting of that unique Motown Magic. The week-long Livestream series taking place Tuesday, March 16 to Sunday, March 21 will benefit Banding Together ATX, an emergency relief grant program established by the Red River Cultural District in Spring of 2020 to support Austin’s live music, hospitality, and service community. The musical extravaganza featuring live virtual performances from seasoned global and local musicians is an effort to help the Lone Star state’s entertainment industry state hit hard not just by the pandemic but also winter power outages that has made the situation even more dire.
Over the past year, the live music, hospitality, and service industries across the country have greatly suffered due to widespread closures of live music venues and the cancellation of large festivals and events due to COVID-19. In response to the unimaginable circumstances since last March, this is an effort by Voices of Classic Soul to come together with other musical artists and StageIt to assist in alleviating the entertaining industry hurt in Texas.
