Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., the million-dollar winner of NBC Television’s America’s Got Talent is bringing his “That’s Life” tour to the DC/MD/VA/WV area for a series of highly anticipated springtime concerts, with shows in Manassas, Martinsburg, Culpeper, Bethesda and Winchester.
Murphy is best known for his smooth, crooning style on classics from the Great American Songbook, which wowed AGT judges and over 14 million TV viewers each week, and for his heart-stopping duet with Patti Labelle during the AGT finals. The dreadlock wearing former car washer’s first CD “That’s Life” debuted at #1, and Landau’s sold out tour has taken him from Las Vegas to New York to Hollywood and overseas to China and Europe, where he performed on-base for U.S. troops stationed there. .
This Thursday April 24th, Landau is set to perform the first ever concert by a national headliner in the beautiful state-of-the-art theater at the new Spring Mills High School in Martinsburg, WV. Also appearing will be the former lead vocalists from three of music biggest bands, The Temptations, Platters and Drifters and the Swing Machine Big Band. The concert is a benefit for the Spring Mills Student Choir, who plan to join Murphy on stage during the performance. Friday night April 25th, Landau makes his triumphant return to the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club, accompanied by the James Bazen Big Band and special guest, Los Angeles based crooner Dave Damien. Saturday night April 26th, Landau headlines the beautiful State Theatre in Culpeper, VA, capping the theatre’s “Culpeper’s Got Talent” competition, which featured talented performers from across the region. Joining Landau will be the former lead vocalists from the Temptations, Platters and Drifters and the Swing Machine Big Band. After a quick tour stop in Louisville to perform at Kentucky Derby festivities, Landau returns to the area for one final appearance Saturday night May 3rd, as the special guest headline entertainer at the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester, VA. After appearing in the Apple Blossom Parade, Landau will serve as a celebrity guest judge for the final round of the hugely successful Apple Blossom’s Got Talent competition before capping off the evening with a show stopping performance accompanied by the Los Angeles based No Vacancy Orchestra.
